SEN Teaching Assistant – Make a Real Difference Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire Salary: £11.72 – £12.78 per hour (Actual: £19,370.70 – £21,122.66, depending on experience) Hours: 37 hours per week – Term Time Only Are you passionate about changing young lives? We’re seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team, supporting students aged 11-19 with complex needs such as autism, learning disabilities, and communication difficulties. If you’re enthusiastic about making a positive impact, we’d love to hear from you Your Role: Support Learning & Development: Collaborate with professionals to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment where students can succeed. Personalised Assistance: Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with sensory and communication needs. Build Strong Relationships: Foster trust with students, ensuring a safe and welcoming learning atmosphere. Behaviour Management: Implement creative strategies to encourage positive behaviour, adapting to each student’s unique needs. Personal Care: Offer assistance with personal care, ensuring students feel supported and respected. What We’re Looking For: Experience working with SEN students (paid or voluntary). A Level 2 or higher qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (preferred but not essential). GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C/Level 2 or above) – essential. Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures. A flexible and creative approach to adapt to individual learning needs.
