This role falls in to the category of requiring a DBS check (standard) About the role: An opportunity has arisen for an experienced HCPC-registered Senior Biomedical Scientist based at our pathology laboratory in Blackheath. In co-operation with the Head of Department, the post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the laboratory and supervision of the departmental team to ensure delivery of a fit-for-purpose Blood Transfusion and Haematology service for TDL. Duties will include assisting in the performance of the routine diagnostic analytical work of the department as directed, to maintain the highest professional and technical standards in the department, to perform work to which you are assigned, ensuring that it meets all standards as required by accreditation bodies and to adhere closely to SOPs and to assist in putting these methods into practice and adhering to associated quality assurance procedures. The successful candidate must have strong experience in Haematology, Morphology and Coagulation as well as Blood Transfusion. Departmental shifts, including early and late cover, night duties and weekends are required for this post. The laboratory is multidiscipline including candidates will be expected to process chemistry samples as well. Experience in chemistry is desirable but full training will be given if required.
