To lead the site and drive delivery of customer and internal activities for their facility and to set the standards and expectations for the site in line with NNL values and behaviours. In doing this they have delegated authority for the VP Operations. Main Responsibilities for Head of Site – Central Laboratory: Delegated authority for the Operations Director. Leader for facility – first point of contact for delivery across all activities based in Central Lab. Prioritisation and delivery of agreed programmes of work within Central Lab. Works with Heads of Capability, reviewing performance of staff, programmes of work and priorities for facility in line with NNL business plans, NNL risk management priorities and NNL internal plans for capex and S&T. Intervenes on issues and ensures the highest of standards are maintained for the building and its people. Formation and leadership of a site management team. Senior sponsor for the facility’s continuous improvement programmes. Improvement of both customer and facility recoveries through continuous improvement, and drive for efficient ways of working. Strong working relationship with EHSSQ teams, ensuring the highest standards are maintained. Collaborates with assurance teams to identify areas of improvement or further reduction in risks. Essential Criteria for Head of Site – Central Laboratory: Experience in managing operational facilities, people, and equipment on a nuclear site. Experience of leadership of a facility, where they have maximised the potential of the operation, including people, and equipment. Experience in developing relationships with internal and external stakeholders and supporting the delivery of projects. Experience in managing multi-million pound budgets, cost control, financial forecasting and planning. Operational experience in a regulated environment, managing technical and facility programmes to a high EHSS&Q standard. Whilst managing changing and competing priorities and absorbing new information rapidly to address complex issues. Experience in leadership and driving cultural change through the support in and implementation of strategic business developments. A degree or higher and/or a relevant demonstrable level of experience. Technical knowledge of a nuclear facility’s capabilities. Ability to obtain SC level security clearance (this includes but is not limited to identity, employment, financial and criminal record checks plus 5 years’ worth of UK residency). Desirable Criteria for Head of Site – Central Laboratory: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to engage stakeholders and build strong collaborative relationships. Demonstrable ability in change management. Able to role model NNL’s values and behaviours. Proven ability to lead and inspire others to achieve goals Strong business and commercial acumen.
